At Milestones Childcare and Early Learning, we learn through play and follow all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage alongside our vision. To ensure overall effectiveness we follow the Intention, Implementation, and Impact. We use this tool to effectively analyze and reflect on our practice and children’s development.

Our Mission
At Milestones Childcare and Early Learning, our mission consists providing a warm, caring and stimulating environment where children feel safe, respected, valued, treated as individuals, and build confidence. Our unique program offers various activities that are specifically designed to encourage each child’s growth. Through co-operative play and creative activities, children reach their social, emotional and physical milestones naturally and with ease.

Milestones Childcare and Early Learning Provides
Licensed Childcare
It means that all of the programming, room configurations, play and learning materials, activities, and menus are founded on the guidelines and regulations set out by Child and Family Services of Alberta, and further supplemented by the guiding principles of The Alberta Association of Accreditation of Early Learning and Care Services.
Inclusive Care
Milestones Childcare and Early Learning are an inclusive program that accepts families and children regardless of their ability, race, ethnicity, economics, sexual orientation, development and family make up. As the capabilities and needs vary from person to person, we ask that everyone stays non-judgmental and offers a community of support.

Child-Led Learning
The process of planning for child-led learning includes observation, planning, implementation, reflection, and documentation. All age groups engage with this programming at Milestones Childcare and Early Learning Centre.
Based on Five Key Components:
- Through self-reflection and professional growth, early childhood educators are always improving the quality of the classroom experience and learning process
- The program builds intrinsic motivation and instills a life-long love of learning
- Program is developmentally appropriate, intentional, child-initiated and process-based
- Early childhood educators make daily observations of the children’s interests and learning, basing their planning, activities, and projects on them
- Learning is made visible through documentation
Milestones Childcare and Early Learning Provides
Nutritious Meals and snacks
Nutritious Meals and snacks are prepared fresh daily and are in accordance with the Dietary Standard for Canada, implementing the four key food groups:
- Milk products
- Grain products
- Vegetables + Fruit
- Proteins.
Daily Schedule
Daily Schedule includes Daily Lesson Plans and activities that promote children’s overall development. We focus on the following domains of child development.
1). Cognitive Development,
2). Physical Development- small motor and large motor skills,
3). Language Development,
4). Social and Emotional Development.
The daily schedule also includes seasonal and creative crafts, international music, daily walks and time in the playground, nap time, circle times, age-appropriate games, and interactive activities.
