Preschool Adventures: Exploring, Learning, and Growing

The preschool program is the next stage of childcare at Milestones. In this stage, children will continue to develop and enhance many of the skills they learned in previous stages. The focus here, then, is on teaching them to communicate in an effective way and to regulate their emotions for the next stage of their early years.

Our educators focus on developing skills through daily experiences. Children will engage in experiments, activities, discussions, and projects throughout the day. They have the freedom to guide their own curriculum through their own unique interests. Educators will take on the challenge of tapping into your child’s interests to create a more meaningful play.

At Milestones Childcare and Early Learning, we recognize the importance of individuality in children. It is essential to make children feel comfortable to express themselves and their interests among trusted and loving peers and educators. Our main focus is to nurture them through a genuine love for learning. We want to prepare our little ones for future school environments and optimal success.

Activities We Do

  • Dramatic play i.e.: playing house; pretending to be emergency first responders, cowboys, pirates, etc.
  • Water play
  • Sand play
  • Arts and Crafts Painting, gluing, cutting paper [with safe and age-appropriate scissors], colouring
  • Outdoor activities Parachuting, biking, chalk, blowing bubbles, hula hooping
  • Enrichment programs (once a week)
  • Circle time (Learning the alphabet, Learning numbers (1-20), Learning colours, Learning shapes, Learning the 5 senses, Learning the days of the week, Learning months, Learning seasons, Singing songs & Reading books)
  • Field trips during the summer (additional costs)
